Serra Used Cars of Traverse City at 1302 South Garfield Avenue, Traverse City, Michigan.

I bought a used Mazda from Serra about a month ago. The salesperson I dealt with was fine enough, but the experience as a whole was terrible. First, I called a couple days prior to my arrival (because I was coming from out of town) to let them know I wanted to test drive a vehicle and potentially buy it if I liked it. When I arrived and they gave me the keys to test drive the vehicle, I noticed how dirty the inside was (sticky cup holders, dirty floors). When I mentioned it to the salesperson he told me that the salespeople drive the vehicles as the personal vehicles sometimes, okay fine, but they knew I was coming for a couple days so I thought they could have at least done a quick wipe down and vacuum.

Second, the finance person I dealt with was pushy and unprofessional. I understand it's your job to try and sell me an extended warranty, and honestly I can appreciate the dedication to the sale. However, when I've told you 5 times I'm not interested and I'm basically yelling at you because you just won't drop it, it's a little much. I literally said to him, "I'm not interested, let's move on", and at that point we were able to move on. I honestly felt he wasn't going to let it go until I bought the warranty. In addition, he called me a couple weeks later to let me know we missed signing a part of my contract. His communication was shotty, at best. He still hasn't contacted me to let me know if everything is okay and figured out.

Lastly, on my way home from Traverse City, which is almost 2 hours from my home, my tire pressure light came on. I went to a Mazda Dealership in my hometown and they told me the tire pressure was just low and they filled it up, but they didn't understand why that wasn't checked prior to me driving the vehicle off the lot where I bought it. I also went to get my first oil change at the dealership in my hometown, where they informed me my car has 2 open recalls that have been open since 2016.

I want to give Serra the little bit of credit they deserve, They did knock $400 off the price of my car when I complained how dirty it was and about the chip in the windshield and broken windshield washer blades I was going to have to get fixed/replaced. They also gave my car a wash and a "quick" wipe down before I took it home.

Overall, my experience wasn't great and I definitely wouldn't recommend buying a car from here.
